Outside Activities: Rules for Members of the House of Commons

​​​​​The Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the​ House of Commons does ​not prohibit Members who are not ministers or parliamentary secretaries from engaging in outside activities as long as they are able to fulfill their obligations under it.​​​​​​

Members who are ministers are parliamentary secretaries are also subject to the Conflict of Interest Act as reporting public office holders. The Act prohibits​ reporting public office holders from engaging in outside employment and a number of other activities.
