On September 16, 2020, Commissioner Dion issued an order under subsection 41(1) of the Conflict of Interest Act to nine regulatees to restrict their official dealings with former reporting public office holder and ambassador David MacNaughton.
This order applies to the following:
The Hon. Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry;
Ms. Leslie Church, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement Canada;
Mr. Ryan Dunn, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry;
The Hon. Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs* (*As she then was.);
Mr. Simon Kennedy, Deputy Minister, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada;
Mr. Bill Matthews, Deputy Minister, Public Services and Procurement Canada;
Mr. Rick Theis, Director of Policy and Cabinet Affairs, Prime Minister's Office;
Ms. Jody Thomas, Deputy Minister, Department of National Defence; and
General Jonathan Vance, Chief of Defence Staff, Canadian Armed Forces.
